Between the Mount Majella and the Adriatic Sea, we grow this elegant Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Terrain, microclimate, low yield and grapes selection create a wine which deeply tells of its origins.
Altitude of Vineyards: 432 mt. asl
Vineyards Exposure: the vineyards are excellently facing south, southeast
Soil Composition: mixed clayey-calcareous
Grapes: 100% Montepulciano
Number of vines per hectare: 3.600-8.000
Crop yield: 80 q/ha
Training System: spurred cordon/simple guyot
Harvest: handpicked, from 15 to 30 October
Fermentation: 70 to 150 hl. stainless steel vats, with daily pumpovers at a controlled temperature; maceration for 15-18 days
Elevage: French oak barrels of various capacities (from 2.25 to 7 hl.) for 18 months
Aging: bottle for at least 12 months
